Currently, with the development of an aging population, hospitals should not only serve elderly patients well from the perspective of medical technology services, but also establish deep connections with them from the spiritual and emotional levels, deepen elderly health and humanistic services, effectively improve the medical experience of elderly patients, and provide "warm" medical care. Firstly, cultivate the cultural concept of "putting elderly patients at the center" and cultivate a strong sense of service for patients. For example, we carry out the "Say More Kind Words" activity in hospitals, advocating that medical workers should say more warm, inspiring, comforting or encouraging words to people around them, especially patients, in their daily work and life. In the medical environment, patients not only require professional treatment and care, but also need warmth and love from the depths of their hearts. Everyone's soul is a garden that needs nourishment, and a warm word nourishes this garden like a drizzle. For patients, they are experiencing dual physical and mental pain. And we medical staff have the power to change their emotions and attitudes. A caring greeting, an encouraging word, and a sincere thank you can all make patients feel the warmth and care from us. Whether in the treatment process or daily care, we can convey this warmth through verbal expression. This can not only alleviate patients' tension and fear, but also increase their confidence and courage, promoting the speed and effectiveness of recovery. At the same time, we also need to say more heartwarming words among medical staff. Unity and mutual assistance are important components of hospital culture. In work, we should pay more attention to each other's emotions and states, and use a word of encouragement to support and motivate each other. Only by uniting as one can we provide better medical services for patients. Secondly, taking the psychological and social factors of the elderly as the starting point, provide elderly friendly humanistic care. For example, the Cognitive Impairment Diagnosis and Treatment Center in our hospital is a specialized department for treating patients with cognitive impairments. Most of the patients who seek treatment have lost their memory and self-care abilities, have difficulty communicating in language, and some even make noise and use foul language all day long, causing a heavy economic and caregiving burden on society and families. In response to this, the center staff will regularly hold a series of activities to care for dementia elderly people, including patient family associations, caregiver training, cognitive training, and psychological support. They accompany the elderly to carry out various intelligence training, such as playing games, drawing, jigsaw puzzles, reading, etc. The Cognitive Impairment Diagnosis and Treatment Center has a Love Garden where staff carry out themed activities such as "Respect and Care for the Elderly, Horticultural Treatment". They work together with elderly patients to plant flowers and vegetable seedlings. The old man often wears a contented smile as he watches the planted flowers and seedlings bloom in the sunlight. Working together on gardening activities not only awakens beautiful memories and a love for life in elderly patients, but also beautifies their living environment, brings joy to both body and mind, and brings doctors and patients closer together. As medical staff serving elderly patients, they no longer place cold stethoscopes directly on the patient's chest, but instead heat them up with their hands before checking. They no longer ask patients to tidy up their own clothes after examination, but instead help the elderly put on their clothes and cover themselves carefully. They spend more and more time listening to the elderly's stories, even though the other person sometimes cannot express themselves clearly and their words do not convey their meaning, they still strive to understand the patient's demands. At the same time, the care orders for elderly patients' families are becoming increasingly detailed and specific. Thirdly, pay attention to the details of the service and create an aging friendly environment. In terms of diagnosis and treatment services, our hospital provides a one-stop elderly friendly service process to better enhance the medical experience of elderly patients, including appointment registration, triage guidance, examination and testing, medication collection and payment, and hospitalization appointment. This reduces the waiting time and medical process for elderly patients. In terms of the medical environment, we will carry out overall renovation and construction of elderly friendly and barrier free facilities, improve the hospital identification system, optimize the layout and decoration of wards, and fully consider the sensory, physical, and intelligent needs of the elderly, from lighting, flooring, color, curtains, and signage to bathing facilities, environmental layout, and furniture. We will create a comprehensive elderly friendly service model of "biological psychological social environment". Elderly health and humanistic services are a systematic project with a heavy responsibility and a long way to go. We should actively explore how to truly implement humanistic care for elderly health, apply humanistic medical theory to the construction process of elderly health humanistic hospitals, strengthen humanistic care in medical practice, let more elderly patients feel the warmth of geriatrics in medical practice, promote elderly health and hygiene services to a higher level, and do truly "warm" medical care.
