On the 30th, it was learned from the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine that by 2024, the level of traditional Chinese medicine health and cultural literacy among Chinese citizens will reach 26.85%, achieving the set goals of the 14th Five Year Plan ahead of schedule. The level of traditional Chinese medicine health culture literacy refers to the proportion of people with basic traditional Chinese medicine health culture literacy to the total population. According to the 14th Five Year Plan for the Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the level of health and cultural literacy in traditional Chinese medicine among citizens is expected to reach 25% by 2025. In recent years, the Comprehensive Department of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in conjunction with the Propaganda Department of the National Health Commission, has continued to conduct a survey on the health and cultural literacy of Chinese citizens in traditional Chinese medicine. According to the survey results in 2024, the level of traditional Chinese medicine health and cultural literacy among citizens has been increasing year by year from 12.85% in 2016 to 26.85% in 2024; The gap in the cultural literacy level of traditional Chinese medicine among citizens in different regions is constantly narrowing. This survey includes five dimensions: basic concepts of traditional Chinese medicine, healthy lifestyle of traditional Chinese medicine, suitable methods for the public of traditional Chinese medicine, cultural knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine, and understanding ability of traditional Chinese medicine information. The survey results show that in 2024, the average level of literacy in the two dimensions of traditional Chinese medicine healthy lifestyle and traditional Chinese medicine public suitability methods has increased, indicating that the integration of traditional Chinese medicine culture and modern life has become an important trend in the current health field.
