The quality and safety level of special food in China is steadily improving

The reporter recently learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that since the implementation of the "two responsibilities" for food safety by the market supervision department in 2022, the quality and safety level of special food in China has steadily improved, and the development trend continues to consolidate. The pass rate of special medical formula food and infant formula milk powder sampling has been consistently high, maintaining above 99.8% and 99.9% for the past three years. The relevant person in charge of the Special Food Safety Supervision and Management Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation introduced that through rebuilding mechanisms, reshaping processes, and rebuilding foundations, the food safety directors and food safety officers of special food production enterprises across the country are fully equipped. A third-party survey shows that in 2024, consumers' satisfaction with the quality and safety of special food in China and regulatory satisfaction will both be above 90%, indicating a continuous increase in consumer confidence in domestically produced special food.
