According to the official website of the National Health Commission, in order to thoroughly implement the national strategy of actively responding to population aging, further enhance the capacity of elderly care services, and effectively meet the diversified and differentiated nursing service needs of the elderly, based on a comprehensive review of the current situation and development needs of elderly care services and in-depth analysis of relevant issues, the National Health Commission, together with relevant departments, has studied and formulated the "Action Plan for Enhancing the Capacity of Elderly Care Services" (hereinafter referred to as the "Action Plan"). The Action Plan proposes that by 2027, elderly care resources will be effectively expanded, the elderly care service system covering institutions, communities, and homes will gradually improve, the service capabilities of practitioners will continue to improve, elderly care services will continue to improve, service continuity, accessibility, and standardization will continue to improve, and the sense of achievement of the elderly will continue to increase. The Action Plan deploys six key tasks: first, to expand the supply of elderly care resources; second, to strengthen the construction of the elderly care service system; third, to expand diversified models of elderly care services; fourth, to improve the service capabilities of elderly care practitioners; fifth, to ensure the quality and safety of elderly care services; sixth, to improve elderly medical care services. The Action Plan requires that health administrative departments at all levels should actively respond to population aging and improve the health and well-being of the people. They should include the action to enhance elderly care service capabilities in their important agenda, strengthen organizational leadership, coordinate resources from all parties, and provide strong support for the implementation of various tasks. Each region should combine local realities, innovate ideas and measures, timely study and solve problems and difficulties that arise, while exploring beneficial practices and promoting replicable experiences in a timely manner.
