Which is more healthy between staying still with a cat or practicing in winter

In the cold winter, some people say that "cat winter" should reduce outdoor activities, while others say it is a good time to "practice three nine in winter". Which of these two methods is more healthy? Jiang Quan, chief physician of Guang'anmen Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, introduced that "Cat Winter" and "Winter Exercise Three Nine" are both traditional health wisdom, but they need to be viewed rationally and dialectically. Jiang Quan explained that 'Cat Winter' does not mean absolute stillness. For example, some people sit at home for long periods of time or stay indoors due to "cat winter". This excessive "cat winter" can easily lead to stagnation of qi and blood, poor circulation of qi and blood, and is not conducive to the hidden and sprouting of yang energy. So the correct approach should be to go outdoors and engage in gentle exercise when the weather temperature is relatively high, to achieve a state of "slight warmth and soothing qi". To achieve a balance of "guidance in hiding and movement in stillness" is the key to health preservation. At the same time, Jiang Quan reminds everyone that the "winter practice three nine" should also be treated scientifically and not excessively. The original intention of "Winter Exercise 3-9" is to encourage everyone to go outdoors and strengthen their physical fitness through exercise during winter to resist external cold, but it should be emphasized that they should "move moderately and not sweat excessively". Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that 'sweat is the fluid of the heart'. In winter, our pores are in a tight state. If we sweat profusely, it is easy for our yang energy to leak out and our body fluids to be damaged, which can lead to fatigue and decreased resistance. At the same time, everyone should avoid blindly attempting extreme sports without considering their own conditions. Especially for people who are usually afraid of cold or have poor cardiovascular and cerebrovascular function, if exposed to excessive cold stimulation, the contraction of blood vessels can cause fluctuations in blood pressure, and even lead to the occurrence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular accidents. So, the key to winter health preservation lies in the realm of "hiding without stagnation, replenishing without stagnation". We should not only avoid the stagnation of qi caused by excessive "cat winter", but also pay attention to the damage of yang qi caused by excessive winter training
