On the basis of fully realizing the direct delivery of maternity allowance to individuals in 27 provinces and 95% of the overall planning areas in the early stage, recently, the medical insurance departments of Guizhou, Guangxi, Xinjiang and other provinces have actively implemented the requirements of the National Medical Insurance Work Conference and vigorously promoted the optimization of the process of maternity allowance distribution. Guizhou officially issued a document on December 16, 2025, clarifying that from January 1, 2026, the maternity allowance will be fully implemented and directly distributed to individuals. Various coordinated regions in Guangxi have successively issued documents, and from January 1, 2026, the entire region will fully realize the direct provision of maternity allowances to individuals. Xinjiang has completed the system transformation in the early stage, and recently officially issued a document clarifying that from February 1, 2026, the direct distribution of maternity allowance to individuals will be fully implemented. Beijing issued a document on December 25, 2025, stipulating that from January 31, 2026, the payment method of maternity allowance for insured female employees will be adjusted to directly distribute it to individuals. Tianjin has implemented direct distribution of maternity allowances for female employees in enterprises to individuals. This means that the maternity allowance has been directly distributed to individuals nationwide.
