Recently, the China Oral Cleaning and Care Products Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) officially launched the 2026 China Oral New Health Action (hereinafter referred to as the Health Action). The aim is to consolidate the strength of all sectors of society and systematically build a child and adolescent oral health protection system through five actions: standard guidance, science popularization and co construction, service sinking, collaborative innovation, and ecological co construction. Previously, the National Health Commission and 13 other departments jointly issued the "Action Plan for Promoting the 'Five Health' of Children and Adolescents (2026-2030)", which for the first time listed oral health as one of the five pillars of children and adolescents' health, along with weight, vision, psychology, and bone health. This marks that oral health has officially risen to an important component of the national public health strategy. To actively respond to and implement the plan, the Health Action has been officially launched. The data disclosed at the kick-off meeting shows that the incidence of primary tooth caries among 5-year-old children in China is as high as 71.9%, with an average of 4.24 dental caries per person; The prevalence of permanent tooth caries among 12-year-old adolescents is 38.5%, and the caries rate in rural areas is 15 percentage points higher than in urban areas. In addition, the standardized treatment rate among children with dental caries is less than 30%, and misconceptions such as "primary tooth caries do not require treatment" still exist widely. According to Guo Qiang, the chairman of the association, Health Action will develop the "Industry Guidelines for Oral Care Products for Children and Adolescents" to enhance industry self-discipline and promote the public welfare implementation of AI intelligent products and devices; Develop an age specific version of the 'Family Guidance Handbook for Children's Oral Health', develop diverse popular science resources, conduct 'Campus Oral Health Classes', and train teachers to become' Campus Oral Health Counselors'; Establish a 'Campus Oral Health Corner', pilot 'Mobile Oral Screening', and build an 'AI+Oral Health Management' platform; Organize the "Oral Health Creative Communication Competition", establish a "Industry University Research Medical Cooperation Platform", and promote the research and application of AI assisted diagnosis, intelligent nursing products, and other technologies; Regularly release the White Paper on Chinese Children's Oral Health and promote the inclusion of oral health education into the basic education evaluation system. According to Gao Wenying, Secretary General of the Association, as of now, companies such as Chongqing Dengkang, Shanghai Meijiajing, Weimeizi Industry, Procter&Gamble China, Colgate China, Yunnan Baiyao, Liuzhou Liangmianzhen, Tianqi, Xiaokuo Technology, Naisi Group, Infinitus, Quecheng Silicification, Novo Nordisk, Romu, and Weiyuan Group have actively participated in the Health Action, laying a foundation for further promoting the deepening of the Health Action.
