Is there a 'brain fog' after the holiday? Here are a few moves

The Spring Festival holiday has just passed, and everyone is working hard to return to work. However, there are also many people who occasionally feel a bit 'post holiday fog' - slower reactions and lack of concentration. Why is this happening? From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, the brain is the home of the primordial spirit. During the Spring Festival, staying up late to observe the New Year, having irregular daily routines and eating habits, coupled with constant socializing, can easily lead to poor qi and blood circulation, and loss of brain function, which can be a bit of a "brain fog". So, how can we accelerate the "awakening" of the brain, make it "reboot" successfully, and start a new year with a clear and refreshing feeling? Firstly, you can try three brain protection tips: one is to meditate for 5 minutes to help clear your brain waste. Before work, you can sit in a quiet corner, close your eyes and take a deep breath, adjust your inhalation and exhalation, and eliminate all the "brain garbage" such as staying up late, anxiety, and overthinking. Persist for 5 minutes to relieve stress, which is much more effective than watching short videos to relax. The second is to "chew" good memory through dietary supplementation. The traditional dietary knowledge passed down from our ancestors has its merits. We can eat more walnuts and black sesame seeds every day. Walnuts can promote brain health, while black sesame seeds can nourish essence and blood. The combination of the two can nourish the brain marrow. Chewing while watching TV shows, chatting, or working is very beneficial for improving memory and protecting the brain while eating. However, it should also be noted that food cannot replace medication for treatment, and if memory is severely reduced, offline medical treatment is necessary. Thirdly, do more "brain exercises" at work. After rework, if there is a "brain fog" phenomenon, do not force it. Every 40 minutes of work, please get up and stretch, look out the window for 30 seconds, and do a "face rubbing and brain awakening exercise": rub your hands hot, gently rub from the forehead down to the chin, repeat 10 times to promote blood circulation in the head. Secondly, there are two small awakening acupoints on the human body that can be pressed when the brain is tired: one is the "awakening switch" on the top of the head - Baihui acupoint. Its position is very easy to find, right in the center of the head, at the midpoint of the line connecting the tips of the two ears. When feeling dizzy and swollen, use your index finger to press and knead for 3 minutes, with a slightly sour and swollen intensity, which can quickly refresh and invigorate the mind. When feeling drowsy during a meeting, secretly press to instantly regain your state of mind. The other is the "key point" for relieving fatigue - Fengchi acupoint. It is located at the hairline of the back of the neck, in the depressions of the large muscles on both sides of the neck. Pinch the acupoint with your thumb and index finger, gently press and massage for 2 minutes, which can alleviate the cerebral blood supply shortage caused by neck and shoulder pain, and improve insomnia and frequent dreaming. Pressing it before bedtime can make sleep more fragrant and the brain clearer. In addition, there is a calming tea drink that can help promote good mental health when consumed regularly. There are only three ingredients: chrysanthemum, wolfberry, and peeled longan. Brew in boiling water and let it simmer for 5 minutes before drinking. Chrysanthemums can clear heat and calm the liver, goji berries can nourish the liver and kidneys, and longan can nourish the blood and calm the mind. The combination of the three can not only relieve dizziness caused by excessive eye use, but also supplement the qi and blood needed by the brain. It is suitable for both office workers and students, and drinking one cup every day is very beneficial. Traditional Chinese medicine often says, 'If the mind is clear and the gods are clear, everything will go smoothly.'. Reminder to everyone: Protecting the brain is not something that can be done overnight. After the holiday, adjust your schedule slowly, avoid staying up late, and do not overthink. By combining these inexpensive and effortless methods, you can make "brain clearing gods" the norm.
